Sharing in the festive spirit at Old Boys’ Christmas Lunch

We shared in the festive spirit at our Old Boys’ Christmas Lunch last Friday at the Golden City Hotel, in Ballarat.
Guest speaker David Loader (SPC 1982-85, PY1987) and interviewer College Legend and former Rebels coach Gerard “Fitzy” Fitzgerald (SPC 1973, PY1975) laugh at a question.
We were delighted to hear from GWV Rebels and 2024 League Grand Final coach David Loader (SPC 1982-85, PY1987), who was experly interviewed by fellow College Legend and former Rebels coach Gerard “Fitzy” Fitzgerald (SPC 1973, PY1975).
David spoke about the rigours of the current football program, especially the draft process, which saw six Rebels drafted in the recent 2024 AFL Draft, including St Pat’s talents, Sam Lalor (SPC 2019-22, PY2024), Ollie Hannaford (SPC 2021-24), Jack Ough (SPC 2021-24), along with Jonty Faull, Rhys Unwin, and Harry Charleson (SPC 2017-24) in the rookie draft.
More than 30 Old Boys attended the lunch, with more than a dozen attending for the first time.
The Old Boys’ Lunch is held twice in June and November and is open to all Old Collegians, especially those who may now be retired and/or enjoy the opportunity to get together in a friendly, informal setting.
Come on your own, or bring along your SPC mates, and enjoy a good meal, catch up on College news, listen to a guest speaker and enjoy some great company.
