Dr John Richard McGoldrick (SPC 1936-43)

We were notified by family of the passing of Dr John Richard McGoldrick (SPC 1936-43) on 22 November 2023, aged 96 years.

John was the husband of Aileen (dec), a loving father and father-in-law of Peter and Katie (dec), Paul and Jenny, Kathryn, Liz and Geoff, Hugh, Frances and Michael, Anna and Geof; and grandfather of 11, and great-grandfather of eight. John passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. A Funeral Mass was held at St Joseph’s Church in Malvern on 7 December 2023.

John was an academic student during his time at SPC. He was a College Prefect and received a Donovan Bursary. He entered Newman College to study medicine alongside fellow Old Boys, Leo Cleary, Dan Lenaghan, William Taubert and Dan Carracher. John later had a doctor’s practice in Mordialloc.
