Mothers Day Mass and Breakfast 2015
May 7, 2015
The College was delighted this morning to play host to more than 550 people for the Annual Mothers Day Mass and Breakfast.
Mass, celebrated by Old Collegian Fr Justin Driscoll, commenced at 7am in the College Chapel and featured a wonderful homily and ceremony, focusing on the importance of loving mothers in raising fine sons.
Boarding students carrying carnations greeted mums as they emerged from the Chapel.
Attendees then gathered in three locations – the OCA Pavilion, the Dining Room and the Canteen – to enjoy breakfast before the boys commenced their school day.
We were especially delighted to welcome so many grandmothers, and in at least one case great-grandmothers, to the function.
The Annual Mothers Day Mass and Breakfast is one of the most popular events on the SPC calendar and continues to grow each year.
Thank you to everyone who supported our efforts to raise funds at the breakfast for research into breast cancer. We raised over $300 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
The Annual Fathers Day Mass and Breakfast, which follows a similar format, will be held on Friday, September 4.
