Students compete in Noorat shooting event

On Thursday August 27, 35 students from the College made the early start to Noorat in Western Victoria to compete in the Regional School Student Clay Target Championship.-

The event attracted some 350 students from across the region gathering to contest the annual event.

This competition is a Down the Line (DTL) clay target discipline with the students shooting at 20 targets using single barrel only. The students shot in two rounds of 10 targets.

After the first round Tyson McCallum was the best placed representatives of the College shooting eight out of ten targets.-

The second round saw the students move trap houses, seeing an improvement of shooting with majority of students bettering their first round score; it was Zac King who managed to shoot 10/10.-

The leading shooter representing the College was Zac King who shot 16/20 showing that consistent shooting was the key in events of this type.-

Jack Cullen, Harry McPhan, Nelson Tuncks , Jake Cassells, Jordi Van der Sluys, Brayden Ward, Jacob Coxall, Declan Dickson, Luke Attwood, Zac King, William Durant, – Lachie Riordon, Tom Devries, Brody Burke, Bradley Wills, Campbell Spittle, Torin Beattie, Flynn Donegan, Nathan Ward, Tyson McCallum, Riley Cartledge, Ben Martin, Lachlan Cassells, Jack Brown, William Beaston, Fin Ballinger, Clancy Dickson, Kyle Borg, Mitch Brown, Ethan Tebble, Jack Tobin, Chad Peterkin, Jack Carnes and Mason Smith all competed.

Well done to all shooters who competed on the day, every student gave their best effort, showcasing the talent and enthusiasm that shooting has within the school.-

I would also like to thank the parents who took time out of their day to support their sons and other students as they competed in the day’s event.
