Rowing Report – November 5, 2015
November 4, 2015
Rowing Season has kicked off incredibly well. Having access to the new training device the swingulator has already seen an improvement on technical rowing for our beginning crews. We have grown this year with 10 junior crews comprising 50 year 8 crewmen and some year 7 coxes. We have 6 senior crews and three and half intermediate crews with 6 of those lads brand new rowers. Please check out the StPats Rowing facebook page.
We are engaged with some intense training with some crews starting at 6:00am. This is indicative of the personal fortitude and commitment the rowers have to developing their skills and being competitive at regattas. we are excited by the 60 or- so students that have regularly attended the Wednesday running session. Where all year level rowers come together and train.
It has been an impressive start to the season with the enthusiasm and energy promoted by the boys and we look forward to it continuing into December.
We would also like to invite the wider St Pats Community to consider supporting our two up and coming fundraisers.
1) The ergothon on the 15th of November: much like a walkathon / marathon, the boys team up in mixed age groups and row for four hours. Donations are much appreciated and it can be generously received online.
2) Or alternatively- you may prefer an entertaining Melbourne shopping trip fundraiser planned for Saturday the 14th of November. A wonderful way to spend the day.
