Old Boys help at College Careers Expo

Experienced MICA paramedic Sean Duggan (SPC 1986-1991) was one of the many Old Boys to share their career knowledge at the St Patrick’s College’s recent Senior School Careers Expo.

Sean now works for Ambulance Victoria and his connection with the College continues with son, Thomas, currently attending SPC and studying in Year 9.

Sean was among a number of Old Boys who generously donated their time to chat to over 200 students and their families about future career pathways.

Nearly 100 experts attended the expo, held in the Old Collegians Pavilion on Wednesday, July 27, – offering valuable insight on a plethora of career choices.

Current students interested in entering the trades were able to get first-hand expert advice from SPC Old Boy -“ and the nation’s recently named top apprentice – young carpenter Jake Laidlaw (SPC 2008-2012). Jake recently won the national Apprentice of the Year title and works for current SPC parent, Chris Murphy in his local business, Chris Murphy Building.
