Ballarat Catholic Diocese Chess Tournament
Ten students travelled to Monivae College in Hamilton for the annual Ballarat Diocese Chess Tournament. The players were allocated 15 minutes for each game and encouraged to use the time shrewdly and not make hasty decisions. With 6 schools in attendance, students played- six games each in an open competition. We are proud to report that St Patrick’s College came third with one of our players ranked 5th on the day. Congratulations to all the boys for their fine efforts and a particular thanks to Mr Neil Henderson who assisted with supervision.
