West Side Story
Rehearsals for West Side Story have recommenced and are going extremely well. The cast of 80 St Patrick’s College and Loreto College students are working very hard.
West Side Story takes the story of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and transports it to modern-day New York City, as two idealistic young lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the Jets and the Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.
Tickets for West Side Story will go on sale at the end of term one. Further information will be provided in the coming weeks.
Performing Arts Tour
Our Performing Arts Tour to New York City is now only three weeks away. The students participating in the tour are very excited and everyone is looking forward to what will be a wonderful experience. While in New York City, the students will be participating in theatre workshops, attending a number of Broadway productions, participating in a Behind the Scenes tour and will be visiting many of the famous landmarks the city has to offer.
If you would like to see regular updates and photos of the tour, please like the St. Patrick’s College Friends of Performing Arts Facebook page.
