Student Individual and Class Photos
Photographs will be taken by MSP Photography on Thursday February 8 for the vast majority of boys. For the Year 7 boys who will be on camp on the day of the photographs and students who were absent for individual photographs an alternative time has been arranged on Friday February 16. Students must be in full summer uniform for this, including their school suit coats for these photos -“ the College jumper will not be allowed in photos. All hair must neat and adhere to the College guidelines and any student who does not meet this requirement may be removed from the class photos. There will also be an opportunity for family photographs to be taken on these days and these order forms can be collected from the student service desk in the ERC.
– Students will receive their order envelopes in Homeroom and will be required to hand it directly to the photographers on the day of their photos.
Please also be aware that on Monday February 19 the College will be having a whole school photograph taken. This occurs every 5 years and is an important part of capturing our College’s history. Students will once again be required to be in full summer school uniform for this.
Subject changes
Any student wishing to request a change to their subjects are required to do this prior to Friday February 9. To request a subject change, students must obtain the relevant request form available from Student Services in the Edmund Rice Centre (ERC), Once completing this in full, it is then returned it to the ERC.
Please remember that while the College attempts to meet all requests some changes are not possible due to availability of subjects. Subject change requests are also not made based on students wishing to change teachers. Any requests based on pastoral needs other than a direct change of subjects need to be directed through the relevant Year Level Coordinators.
Year 7 vaccinations in 2018
The Secondary School Vaccine Program offers free vaccines to Year 7 students. These vaccines provide protection against:
- Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough) -“ one dose
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV) -“ two doses
Parents/guardians of year 7 students should look out for the vaccine consent card booklet coming home from school with your child within the next week. You need to read the booklet and complete and return Part A regardless of whether your child is being vaccinated at school. These cards are to be returned to the College no later than Friday February 16.
The Ballarat City Council immunisation service may contact you about the Secondary School Vaccine Program. Schools are authorised to provide basic parent/guardian contact details to local councils for this purpose. Contact the school by 16 February 2018 if you do not want your contact details given to the Ballarat City Council immunisation service.

Additionally, the Commonwealth government is funding vaccinations for all children under 20 years who missed scheduled vaccines. If students have missed vaccines, either in childhood or adolescence, and require catch-up vaccines, they should speak with their immunisation provider. (ie. local council or GP).
