SPC in India
The College is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for current students in the Senior School.
This November/December a small group of Senior students from SPC will be travelling to India for the first time as part of Edmund Rice Education Beyond Borders (EREBB).
EERB is an International network of Catholic schools educating young people from many different faiths and cultures. The organisation is committed to developing educational communities that are immersed in each other’s realities, striving to make justice, peace and human rights a global reality.
As part of this program, students from SPC, accompanied by three staff members, will spend two weeks in Northern India working with students from Edmund Rice Schools in New Delhi and Chandigarh. The program will focus on developing students’ leadership qualities and will encourage them to consider how they can take an active role in their communities at both a local and international level.
Whilst there, students will also get to experience the unique and diverse culture of India, including a visit to The Taj Mahal in Agrah.
The cost of the trip will be between $3500 and $4000. This figure will be finalised later in the term and is dependent on numbers, airfares and exchange rates. The school will return any unspent funds to families.
Interested students and their parents are invited to attend an information evening at 7.30pm on Thursday, March 8 in the OCA Pavilion. For further information, please contact Miss Sharp (ssharp@stpats.vic.edu.au) or Mr Joosten (njoosten@stpats.vic.edu.au).
