News around the Boarding Precinct

• Stage Three of the Boarding Precinct is on track and the new dining room, kitchen and multi-purpose space is taking shape.

• At the start of this term, we have welcomed two new faces to the SPC Boarding Community -“ Alex Byeham (10) and Kayne Councillor (11). We wish them both well as they begin their Boarding journey with us.

• Term Two sees the start of competition for many of our major sports at St Patrick’s including both Rugby and Football. We wish all of the Boarders well who are representing us across the College’s winter sports.

• Congratulations to those Boarding students who recently competed in our annual sporting fixture against St Kevin’s College. 21 Boarders represented the College in Rugby, Basketball, Football, Soccer and Hockey.

• Congratulations and well done to the Boarders who represented our Community at the recent ANZAC Day Commemorative Service assisting with the wreath laying;

• Our Boarding Community enjoyed a -‘special treat’ on ANZAC Day eve as we booked the whole screen for the opening night of the new Avengers movie. It was a great way for us all to come together, an opportunity that does not present itself often given the busyness of College life.

• It was wonderful to witness one of our new Boarders, Alex Byeham (10) perform in the College Marching Band during the Ballarat Anzac Day Services. Alex was front and centre on the drums and performed magnificently, along with the other members of the band. Well done Alex.

• We are all looking forward to Wednesday, May 9^th as we welcome many day students to our annual, -Bring a Friend to Boarding- evening. Boarders have invited a friend to come and experience the life of a Boarder first hand by joining us in the Precinct from 3.30pm -“ 9.30pm. There will be plenty of activities, wonderful food and lots of laughs. This is one of the highlights of our Boarding calendar.
