St Patrick’s College Music Bands Tour Local Primary Schools

St Columba’s Primary School, St Alipius Primary School and St Thomas More School were the performance venues for the recent St Patrick’s College Junior Music Tour. –

There were 56 boys as part of the touring party that performed a 30-minute show at each primary school. Three bands performed; Concert Band, Rising Stars and Intermediate Stage Band playing a wide variety of contemporary music. It was especially exciting when a primary student was selected to conduct the Concert Band. This certainly highlighted the maturity and high level of musical expertise displayed by the ensemble.

The most impressive aspect of the tour was the ability of the boys from various year levels to work together. The efficiency of packing the bus and setting up and packing down at each venue improved as each boy took responsibility and looked for ways to assist.

The highly successful tour had the primary school students cheering for more. The boys certainly felt like Rock Stars with plenty of high fives, cheering and singing along to Uptown Funk from the audience.

Congratulations to Mrs Claire O’Brien and Mrs Katrina Bird for the wonderful work they have done with the boys this year and for an affirming end of year tour.
