Where are they now – Henry Ward (SPC 2012-17)

The College recently reconnected with former day student Henry Ward (SPC 2012-17) who is now studying towards his aim of a postgraduate degree in medicine. Henry recalls building strong peer friendships and playing soccer among the highlights of his time at SPC.

 

 

Where has life taken you since leaving SPC?

Life has taken me to the University of Melbourne where I am currently studying in my second year of a Bachelor of Biomedicine. In this new step of my life I have made many friends and memories.

 

 

What are your fondest memories of your time at St Patrick’s College?

My fondest memory of St Patrick’s College are the friends that I made whilst there, spending lunch times playing soccer with the boys every single day was a highlight for me.

 

 

Which teacher from your time at SPC had the greatest impact on you? Why?

Many teachers had a positive impact on me whilst at my time at St Patrick’s and each for different reasons. Many teachers were able to impact me academically and drive me to achieve my best. The teacher which had the greatest impact was Mr (Stuart) Harridge. He was my pastoral care teacher and it was his first year at St Patrick’s. I admired his enthusiasm, energy and patience whilst teaching.

 

 

How has your education shaped your professional life?

My education at St Patrick’s was a crucial step towards university and further goals.

 

 

How has your time at SPC shaped your personal values and your family life?

St Patrick’s reinforced many values about social justice, respect and mateship.

 

 

If you could pass on one message to the students of today, what would it be?

Appreciate your time in high school and do subjects you have a genuine interest in.
