Trip of a lifetime for Jacob Pawlowicz (SPC 2014-19)
February 24, 2020
Class of 2019 student Jacob Pawlowicz is putting a new university course on the backburner to live out his dream of travelling and playing cricket abroad.
Jacob (SPC 2014-19) has deferred an offer to study a Bachelor Degree in Science (Applied Chemistry) at RMIT University in Melbourne, and has signed with a cricket club in England instead.
Jacob will be playing for Barnoldswick Cricket Club in Lancashire and is leaving in April.
The Greenvale premier cricketer plans to be abroad for just over six months and is planning on doing as much travel as he can while he’s away.
“I got the idea from some people I know who had previously gone to the UK,” said Jacob.
”The process was pretty simple, I got into contact with an agent and basically he made contact with some different clubs who were looking for an import and I got an offer from a club that was interested in me.”
Jacob returned for the College’s recent 2020 Academic Assembly where he was among 12 peers awarded a VCE Achievement of Excellence Award after achieving an ATAR of 94.75.
In the lead-up to his sojourn, Jacob will be working as a tutor in the College’s Year 12 Study Centre and “saving as much money as possible” to enjoy on his overseas trip.
We hope Jacob has a fabulous time!
