Begonia Festival Parade

The music department has been busy preparing for our annual participation in the Ballarat Begonia Festival. The drumline, under the tutelage of Mr Michael Evans- Barker, includes students from years 8 to 12. This group has prepared a wonderful performance which I encourage the St Patrick’s community to support. The parade route follows Wendouree Parade beside the Ballarat Botanical Gardens on Monday March 9 at 11am.

Music Camp

Music Camp, Friday 20 to Sunday 22 March, will be held at the wonderful Cave Hill Creek camp north of Beaufort. Students from Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Stage Band and Inner Jazz will work to prepare music for our bi-annual tour to Sydney and Ballarat Anzac Day parade. The boys will also work together in instrumental families to prepare music specific to their instruments. But music camp isn’t just all work. The Music Leaders, under the direction of Joel Harbour, are in the early stages of preparing the annual student staff trivia competition. The leaders take great pride in ensuring that staff are always on the backfoot!

A concert will be held at the conclusion of camp from 2pm.
