KRC Update
November 26, 2020
by Director of Library and Information Services, Ms Leonie Darken
What busy few weeks we have had in the KRC and how wonderful it is to support students and teachers as they near the end of their teaching and learning year. Boys have benefited from being able to spread out in our flexible learning spaces, as they create posters and presentations. There has been high demand for our print area as they access the large table spaces, scissors, printers, desktop computers, guillotine and staplers. We have also supported many other students as they catch those last few opportunities to study for end of year assessments or catch up on work missed earlier in the term.
We are now busily in the throws of ensuring that many students can borrow books to continue their good reading for pleasure habits over the holiday break. Boys are also encouraged to return any unwanted items before they finish for 2020. We have this year been able to automate our overdue processes and have been actively trying to retrieve overdue items with emails to students and then parents (only if three student emails do not get the required response). It is our practice to return any billed amount should the book find its way back to the library in a condition worthy of placing back on our shelves.
