Ronald Paul Podbury (SPC 1942-47)

Ron Podbury was named Intermediate Dux in 1944.

We have been notified that Ronald Paul Podbury (SPC 1942-47) passed away peacefully on February 17, 2019 in the presence of his loving family in Geelong, aged 89 years.

Ron was the dearly loved husband of Margaret (Greta) and much loved father of Shaun, Angela, Annette, Simon, Darlene and their families.

Ron was remembered fondly as a “valued and respected former colleague” by his former workplace at Barwon Water, where he worked as an engineer.

During his time at SPC, Ron excelled at his studies, and was named the Intermediate Dux in 1944. A boarder from Geelong, Ron was a member of the Platoon No 1 and the Sodality of Our Lady. He was also a member of the successful Galvin House premiership senior football team in 1946 and again, part of the senior shed competition premiership side in 1947.
