Dear Boarding families,

I hope you had a lovely long weekend with your sons at home. Some boys have returned much fresher than others; It sounds as though our boarders from the farming regions were put to good use over the long weekend. Some even go as far as to say that they’re returning to school for a rest. Either way, we’re delighted to have a whole energetic house again. Our Year 12s didn’t get a long weekend; most of this time was spent studying for their VCE exams. We are incredibly proud of how our Year 12s have approached their VCE exams; their diligence, attitude, and thirst for knowledge have been most impressive. The boarding staff and VCE students are very grateful to Old Collegian and 2021 College Dux, Connor Gaffney, for tutoring our boys as they prepare for their exams. No doubt, this has been tremendously beneficial.

A consistent message we have been discussing with our boarders is the importance of strongly finishing the term. Over the next four weeks, our boarders will be sitting exams and completing Head Start; therefore, with a change in routine, there can sometimes be a tendency to stray from the path. Finishing the term well by studying hard for exams, working productively during Head Start and continuing to get involved in co-curricular activities will instil a sense of accomplishment and have them looking forward to returning to school in 2023.

Although there are only four weeks left of school, a lot is still to happen. Please see below the upcoming events.

  • Monday, 14 November – Years 7 – 10 exams commence
  • Wednesday, 16 November – 2023 Year 12 Head Start
  • Thursday, 17 November – Valedictory
  • Sunday, 20 November – 2023 VCE new boarders’ transition
  • Monday, 21 November – Years 8 – 12 Head Start
  • Sunday, 27 November – 2023 Years 7 – 10 new boarders’ transition
  • Thursday, 1 December – Awards Ceremony Assembly
  • Friday, 2 December – Students finish

  • Sunday, 13 November – Movies
  • Sunday, 20 November – Bounce
  • Sunday, 27 November – Go-Karts, Ten Pin Bowling, Laser Tag
