Carmel Bourke.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of much-loved former College Tuckshop manager Carmel Bourke, who passed away on 31 October 2023, aged 86 years, surrounded by her loving family. A generation of SPC students will remember Carmel with the fondest of memories.

The school canteen was affectionally known as the “Bourke Street Canteen” with Carmel a familiar face to the boys from the early 1970s and when Carmel retired in August 1999, this wonderful TV news report captured Carmel on the eve of her retirement, to watch, click on this link here
Our sincere condolences are extended to her family, including Neville (dec) and sons Clem (SPC 1972-77) , Mark (SPC 1975-79, PY1980) (dec) and Paul (SPC 1977-80, PY1982) and their families. Carmel’s funeral was held on 6 November 2023 at Nazareth House in Ballarat.
