St Patrick’s College is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our 2024 College Captain, Noah Quick, who has been named Ballarat’s Young Citizen of the Year as part of the 2025 City of Ballarat Australia Day Community Awards.
Noah’s recognition is a testament to his exemplary leadership, unwavering compassion, and extraordinary dedication to making a difference within the College and broader community. Throughout 2024, Noah inspired all who crossed his path with his warmth, kindness, and tireless commitment to social justice and community service.
A strong advocate for social action and faith in practice, Noah has consistently embodied the College’s mission of “educating hope-filled, compassionate, and confident young men for their place in the world.”
His leadership during the College’s Faith in Action initiatives and his advocacy for social justice issues has left an indelible impact on his peers, encouraging them to lead lives of purpose and service.
Noah’s remarkable contributions have been widely recognised. In 2023, he received the prestigious Sir George Devine Treloar Award for Community Service. In 2024, he was honoured with the Purton Oratory Award, the Principal’s Award for Excellence, and the Gregory Francis Noonan Pillar of the College Perpetual Award, exemplifying the pillars of Faith, Tradition, Excellence, and Joy.
Beyond his achievements within the College, Noah has also excelled in the sporting arena, being recognised as the region’s most proficient junior football umpire and officiating at the state level—a testament to his discipline, resilience, and ability to inspire confidence in those around him.
As School Captain in 2024, Noah’s influence extended far beyond his formal duties. His inspiring speeches, approachable leadership style, and active involvement in fundraising and awareness initiatives demonstrated his deep social conscience and unwavering commitment to service.
Principal Steven O’Connor congratulated Noah on this outstanding recognition, stating, “Noah represents the very best of what it means to be a St Patrick’s College student. His compassion, leadership, and drive to serve others are qualities that inspire our entire College community. We are immensely proud of his achievements and are confident he will continue to make a meaningful impact in the future.”
