A message from the Principal

Welcome to St Patrick’s College Ballarat, a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in the Edmund Rice tradition.

Finding the right secondary school is an important task and I’m delighted that you’re considering St Pat’s for your son.

Read, digest, explore. Meet our community. Get a feel for us. Discover what makes us different. Understand our aims and hopes for your son and how we will deliver on them. See if you can imagine him here.

I would encourage you as a next step, to visit us and take a tour of the College. St Pat’s is an amazing community and a beautifully resourced school. The best way to get a sense of this, is to connect with some of its people and see the school in action. Visitors are always very welcome!

Community is integral to us and the wellbeing of all is central; without it, no one will ever achieve their best. That is why wellbeing underpins everything we do. It is what makes for meaningful and connected conversations and relationships. It is how we get to know your son really well. It is why we can support and motivate him in just the right way. Your son will thrive because he is known, understood, valued, and supported in everything he does.

As a school first and foremost, we hold our boys’ learning and growth at the heart of all we do. Our mission is to provide an engaging, enjoyable and holistic education for boys that liberates them and leads them to a wisdom for life. We are committed to achieving excellence in all that we do with and for our boys.

A St Patrick’s College education is informed by the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and characterised by justice, service, compassion, respect, discernment and excellence.

As your son finishes his time at St Pat’s, we are confident he will leave as a well-rounded individual, not only having achieved the highest level of success academically and personally, but also with self-confidence of who he is and respect for others, having learnt what it means to have true integrity, compassion and character.

We are committed to contributing significantly to the formation of young adults who are confident, compassionate, respectful, authentic, relational, and optimistic about the future and their place in it, and the contribution they will make to society.

At St Patrick’s we value and honour Character, Compassion and Community.

We would love to talk with you about your son and, more importantly, talk with him to work out what makes him tick, where he wants to go next and make sure he has the opportunity to get there. I invite you to take a closer look at St Pat’s to get a feel for this incredible community, the ethos, spirit and opportunities we offer and to discover how we can provide an education just right for your son.
