Performing Arts Centre
Raising the curtain on an exciting new chapter of performing arts at St Pat’s.
Our state-of-the-art Performing Arts Centre opened in 2024, heralding a vibrant new era of education at St Patrick’s College.
Six years in the making, this exceptional facility ignites the passions of performers and audiences alike with its industry-level features and commitment to artistic excellence.
Proudly positioned alongside Kennedy House, adjacent to the College’s beautiful front entrance and gardens, the building is wrapped in a precast concrete facade resembling the shape of a stage curtain.
The large, 800-seat auditorium has a cutting-edge theatre and AV system, as well as a retractable and fixed seating system, ensuring a truly transformative space.
The northern end of the building is an inspiring teaching and learning area with Ensemble, Percussion and Band rooms, a black box theatre, and five individual tuition studios for one-on-one music lessons.
A number of Old Collegians contributed to the design and construction of the building, as well as the delivery of the project, including Nicholson Construction director Stephen Allen (SPC 1997-2002), Lead Architect Luke Jarvis (SPC 1993-1998) and Project coordinator Elliott Lamb (SPC 2013-2018).
The $20 million Performing Arts Centre received a commendation at the 2024 Victorian Architecture Awards.
