Scholarships

Empowering students to pursue their dreams without financial barriers.

To recognise and encourage the pursuit of excellence in all areas of school life, St Patrick’s College offers scholarships to new and existing students.

From merit-based awards to those recognising unique talents and skills, scholarships are offered in the categories of academic excellence, art, performing arts, music, sport, leadership and general excellence.

Scholarships are typically offered to students entering Years 7, 10 and 11 at St Patrick’s College and strict application dates apply.

Scholarships allow for remission of part tuition fees throughout a student’s secondary education and are subject to satisfactory progress and review.

All categories have an academic component and boys must sit a scholarship test conducted by Academic Assessment Services. A fee of $120 is payable at the time of registering your son.

Indigenous Youth Leadership Program

The Government-funded program aims to close the gaps in Indigenous education by increasing access to education for Indigenous students, particularly those from remote areas of the country.

In addition to helping Indigenous students achieve their educational aspirations, the IYLP supports the development of positive role models and leaders to inspire other Indigenous students.

Application for admission to St Patrick’s College must be made at the same time as an IYLP Scholarship.

Old Collegians Association Scholarships

The St Patrick’s College Old Collegians Association (OCA) Scholarships awards two Year 12 students with scholarships each year. OCA Scholarships are open to sons and/or grandsons of Old Collegians and pay half of each recipient’s tuition fees.

The OCA Scholarship is not necessarily allocated to the smartest student, best athlete or pre-eminent musician, but rather two students who have contributed extensively to the College.

Applications open to Year 11 students in Term 3 each year and parents/caregivers are encouraged to work with students on their submissions.

The OCA and senior College staff shortlist applicants and invite those students to attend an interview in Term 4. The interview panel then recommends two students to the College Principal for approval.

Successful recipients must:

  • Maintain their high values throughout their final year of schooling;
  • Repay the scholarship should he leave St Patrick’s College for another school or for employment before completing his Year 12 studies; and
  • Agree to speak at an end-of-year meeting of the OCA about their time at the College.
