Legends inducted on historic night for SPC

St Patrick’s College honoured its incredible military history on Saturday night when it inducted four new Legends at its annual Legends Dinner.

World War I hero Major Joe Fogarty was inducted posthumously as was Afghanistan veteran Sgt Blaine Diddams who was killed in action three years ago.

World War II bomber pilot Laurie Larmer was inducted on the night as was current serving Colonel Shaun Hoffman.

Former staff members Br Kevin Tuck and Brian Broadribb were also recognised– with Facere et Docere awards for their outstanding contributions to the College, particularly through its cadet program.

It was a fantastic night which commenced with a commemorative Mass to honour the fallen, before the College marching band led the audience to the OCA Pavilion.

The night also marked the launch of the historic `Our Bravest’ book which traces the history of the College’s 297 Old Boys who fought in World War I. The book is now available for sale in the College Shop (call 5322 4313 to place your order).

The night ended with Year 11 student Patrick Willis playing a wonderful rendition of The Last Post.
