Class of 1973 celebrates 50 years of friendship
June 7, 2023
We were delighted to welcome back around 30 Old Collegians for their Class of 1973 50-Year Reunion at the College on Saturday, 3 June.
With exactly half a decade of life experiences to their credit, it was a delight to welcome members of the Class of 1973 and partners for this reunion.
At least one of our guests was competing with jetlag after flying into Melbourne from Phuket at 7am that morning, however he commented after the reunion that he was “incredibly proud of St Pat’s, lifelong friends and stories that will be repeated every time we reunite”.
We also welcomed back former teacher and boarding master Luke Guthrie to the reunion, who had also flown home from Vietnam only days earlier.
Class of 1973 College Captain James Basham was a regretful apology, along with several others, however it was great to see Vice Captain Mark McCombe in attendance.
College Vice Principal – Mission & Identity, Mr Geoff Brodie, formally welcomed the group and we thank John Nicholls, Pat Carson and Shane Wilkinson for their help in locating lost classmates in the lead-up to the reunion.
Following the reunion evening, most of the group continued their conversations at the Western Hotel, and then met up again for Sunday brunch.
Please enjoy these photos below, taken during the reunion evening.
