What a pleasure it has been to have had the honour of welcoming the boys back to St Patrick’s College this week! This is my first Crest article as Assistant Principal – Staff and Culture, and I would like to acknowledge the honour of being a part of this great College, rich in history and tradition, as we look toward an exciting future.
My role involves the organisational components of the College, along with a focus on the professional learning and development of staff so that we can successfully create an environment of excellence that allows our staff and students to flourish.
Throughout the course of the next few weeks, we have many events for the boys to experience. I hope to ensure you that we are operating in a Covid Safe way, in adhering to the guidance provided by the relevant Government bodies, assessing and mitigating risk, while still offering the boys the richness of a Catholic education.
Recently, we had identification photos taken for our internal systems. These are not the normal photos for ordering, instead, we will have two days dedicated to class, roll call and individual portrait photos for ordering in August. This allows time for students to take appropriate action for haircuts and allows for more formal photos in the full winter uniform. Any student who missed the identification photos this week will have a catch-up time at a later date.
Given the current government restrictions we are assessing the viability of parent invitations to the upcoming Academic assembly. Further information will be circulated closer to the date.
I hope this year is a successful one for our students.
