We were notified that Donald Henry McRae (SPC 1953-54, PY1958) sadly passed away on June 11, 2021, aged 80 years.

He was the loved husband of Nancye (dec) and loving partner of Rosalie “Rose”. He was the loved father of Simon and Phyllis, Jan and Peter (dec), Damien and Michelle and Lisa and Peter. He was the adored pa of 12 grandchildren, including former boarder Harry Hobbs (SPC 2016-17), and a great grandchildren of two. We express our deepest condolences to Donald’s extended family, who described Donald as “a loving man of great unassuming strength, faith and love for his family (and) much loved by all” and who was “always warm, gentle and accepting (and) we’ll miss his cryptic, mumbled one-liners!”.
Donald was a boarder from Ballengeich, near Mortlake and attended SPC in his first and second year.

He was an active student and was a member of the McCarthy House footy premiership team in the Oval competition in 1954 as well as a member of the Under 14 Cricket XI.
