 News around the Boarding Precinct

  • On a relatively cold and miserable Saturday morning, twenty-six of our Boarders volunteered their time to assist with the set up of the Ballarat Cycle Classic. The Cycle Classic raises much needed funds for the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute here in Ballarat. Over $225,000 was raised this year and the Boarders represented themselves, the College and their families so well throughout the day.

  • Congratulations to current Boarding Students, Nicholas Hodgson (12) and Beau Tedcastle (11) who were selected as members of the 2021 Greater Western Victorian Rebels Football Squad. Preparation, tryouts and trainings have been a large time commitment and we are very proud of their achievement in this selection process.

 

  • Congratulations to Boarding Students Nicholas Hodgson (12), Nathan Louw (10), Alec Carthew (10) and Khy Jess (10) who all represented St Patrick’s College at the recent BAS Swimming Carnival. This year the carnival returned to the Eureka Pool and all four Boarders competed with enthusiasm and determination, contributing to the overall success of St Patrick’s College. Well done to all.

 

  • While the SPC Athletics Carnival is being held next week, under the guidance of our Boarding Captains, Charlie and Nick, Boarding will be running their own Athletics Afternoon on Monday. Events such as the three-legged race and vortex throw will feature, while a long awaited, 4x100m relay between Boarding Staff and Students will be heavily contested. We look forward to what promises to be a fun and entertaining afternoon.

 

  • The Term 1 Boarding Parent / Teacher / Student Interviews will be held on Thursday, March 1 at 2.30pm, to coincide with the end of term. We ask that Parents and or Guardians contact Glenis Kydd to confirm their times as it is a wonderful opportunity to touch base with College Staff and receive updates on how Boarding Students are traveling.
