Class of 1971 reunites for 50-Year Reunion
November 22, 2022
We also welcomed back our Old Collegians from the Class of 1971 for their 50-Year Reunion in late October.
It was a busy weekend of 50-Year Reunions with the hosting of our Class of 1971 Reunion on the Saturday evening, 22 October, followed by the Class of 1970 Reunion on the Sunday afternoon. Both reunions had been impacted by the COVID pandemic and were repeatedly rescheduled, so it was a delight to finally welcome both reunion groups back to the College for an evening and afternoon to catch up and reminisce.
Numerous Old Boys from the Class of 1971 took to the microphone to share stories from their schooldays at SPC, including former Victorian premier Steve Bracks AC (SPC 1968-71), Rick Blanchfield (SPC 1966-71), Trevor Rickard (SPC 1967-71), Tim O’Shannessy (SPC 1966-73), Mark Nolan (SPC 1966-71), Andrew (Jack) Forbes (SPC 1966-71), Chris Minchinton (SPC 1966-71), Robert White (SPC 1970-71), Gregory “Goon” Cunningham (SPC 1970-71), Peter Younis (SPC 1968-71), Terry Delahunty (SPC 1968-71), Danny Sargeant (SPC 1968-71) and Peter Maher (SPC 1969-71).
The stories and memories certainly made it an evening to remember.
We thank all the members of the Class of 1971 who travelled from far and wide, to attend the reunion, especially those who had to travel around floodwaters, and even Old Collegians who left hometowns on rising floodwater watches, to make the most of the opportunity to catch up with their old school mates. We thank you!
Here are some photos from the evening, to enjoy.
