David John Clifton (SPC 1975-76, PY1977)

We are saddened to hear of the passing of old Collegian David John Clifton (SPC 1975-76, PY1977) on 23 October 2022 after an illness.
David was the devoted and loving husband of Mary, treasured father and father-in-law of Sam (SPC 2002-07) and Shani, Nick (SPC 2004-09) and Kate and Andrew (SPC 2005-10) and Makala and an adoring pa of Esther. David was the dearly loved son of Bruce and Maree Clifton (both dec).  He was the much-loved brother of Margaret, Peter (SPC 1969-74), Cathy, Robert (SPC 1975-78, PY1980), John (SPC 1977-79), Elisabeth and their families.
David’s funeral was held at St Patrick’s Cathedral on 31 October, 2022.

David was a day student at SPC and completed his Form 4 and Form 5 studies.

David was remembered by the Lake Wendouree Football Netball Club where he was a past president and remembered as a “great family man and club person”, fulfilling various off-field roles as well as on-field involvement.

He was club president for five years, with son Nick working alongside him as club secretary, and began his involvement with the Lakers at junior level, when his sons took up playing with the club.
