2nd XI RESULTS-
SPC GREEN 85 DREW with BCC 9/85
SUPER OVER: SPC GREEN 18 – BCC 5
SPC GREEN WIN.
An exciting start to the SPC GREEN season saw a draw against arch rivals BCC. As was the case between the two sides last season, it came down to the last ball. A run out saw scores equal after the twenty overs. This resulted in a Super over and ultimately a SPC victory.
Dan Wrigley top scored in our first innings with 19 as wickets crumbled consistently but we reach a defend-able target on a very green wicket. Our bowling was very good and the pick of them was Max Scales with 3/10 from his four overs.
– The super over saw Dan Wrigley smash 17 runs from five balls and put immense pressure on BCC. Jarrod Illig bowling a tight over saw them only reach five runs which resulted in a great victory for SPC GREEN.
SPC BLUE 4/105 defeated Damascus College 5/104
SPC Blue have started the 2015/2016 season in emphatic style accounting for a full strength Damascus College with 3.3 overs to spare. Despite an early hiccup of only 8 players arriving at the game SPC Blue were able to unite as one unit to close as many holes in the field as possible to restrict Damascus College to a reasonable score of 104 off their 20 overs. Our best bowlers were Richy Dell 2/21 off 4, Samuel Cashin 1/11 off 2, Tom Lyon 1/12 off 3 and Declan Murphy 1/3 off 1. All boys fielded extremely well with only 8 players on the field with a run out and three catches being highlights. Facing a total of near a run a ball we got off to a great start with Richy Dell scoring 46. He was assisted by Tom Lyon 15 including a 6, Mitch Tuddenham 10 and Jai McHenry 8. Tom Godson 12* and Declan Murphy 3* saw out the remaining chase total with consummate ease and controlled batting.
