Dux of 2020 revealed
December 30, 2020
St Patrick’s College is delighted to today announce that Kai O’Keeffe is the College Dux for 2020 after recording an impressive ATAR score of 98.
Kai joined St Patrick’s College as a Year 7 student in 2015 and has consistently been one of the College’s top academic performers.
Kai said he was excited with his result and was thrilled to be crowned dux of the College.
“I am really happy with my score and plan to celebrate over the next day or two, combining the celebrations with New Year’s Eve,” Kai said.
“My dream goal at this stage is now to study a Bachelor of Science with a major in Engineering at the University of Melbourne.”
Kai is one of 13 students who recorded a score in the 90s, with a further 20 students recording ATAR scores in the 80s.
Director of the Senior School at St Patrick’s College Mr Hamish McCrum said he was not surprised Kai had achieved the top honour at the school.
“Right from term one this year it was evident that Kai was one of the hardest workers in the Year 12 group, with great study habits and a desire to achieve his best,” Mr McCrum said.
“We are also pleased that, despite 2020 being such a difficult year, our results are very similar to previous years at the College.
“We should acknowledge and celebrate this as a remarkable result understanding the significant difficulties and disruption to learning that has marked 2020.
“The commitment of the VCE, VET and VCAL teachers, the resilience of the boys and the support of the parents has ensured that the class of 2020 has had every opportunity to experience and attain academic success.”
