Exciting news for our Boarding Precinct project
August 2, 2016
St Patrick’s College’s vision for an exciting new $5 million boarding precinct is gaining momentum.
The college has recently received approval from the Ballarat City Council for this exciting major plan, which aims to ensure the long-term future of boarding in first-class, custom-built facilities for generations to come.
The College will advertise for tenders shortly and the building will start as soon as possible.-
The major build will bring all our boarders together in one designated precinct in the north-west corner of the College where they will have access to brand new, ultra-modern, spacious, comfortable and, most importantly in Ballarat, warm facilities.
They will live as one community, not as three or four separate houses. They will learn, dine, study, play, relax and grow together. They will have wonderful new amenities, both indoor and outside and will form their own vibrant community once again.
We will welcome boys from across Australia in numbers that haven’t been seen here for two decades. The new precinct will enable us to nearly triple our current boarding student population.
Our outstanding Appeal Team leading the fundraising campaign, includes Patron Christian Ryan (OAM and Olympic Medallist, SPC 1993-95), SPC Foundation Chair Dennis Foley (SPC 1967-72) and SPOCA President Michael Kearney (SPC 1962-67).-
– The Appeal Team have been working hard in the background and have already raised $325,000 from generous donors in a great start to our project. The donations made so far by members of our school community will contribute towards the $1m hoping to be raised towards the overall build.
We ask you to consider assisting the College in this investment to secure boarding at St Patrick’s College for decades to come.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible and donors, no matter how large or small their contribution, will be recognised online and in future editions of The Crest, The Shamrock and Green, White and Blue e-newsletter, while those who pledge $500 or more will also have their name permanently etched into honour boards which will feature in the new development. We will be forever grateful for your support.
