From the Assistant Principal – Staff and Culture
February 17, 2022
by Mr Tom Ferguson, Assistant Principal – Staff and Culture
Over the past two weeks we have had the opportunity to immerse the boys in a range of events across the College; Year 7 camps, Pastoral Care programs and the Academic Assembly. Adapting these events and programs to ensure the safety of staff and students has been a challenge, however, we are grateful for the opportunities these gatherings provide in recognising excellence and developing our students’ sense of purpose through our Pastoral Care and camp offerings.
Looking ahead, we are greatly enthused at the opportunity to conduct the swimming carnival on Wednesday, February 23. We ask that all students make this a great event by being present to participate and support their peers as they seek victory for their houses. A reminder that students are required to wear their sports uniform for the day and to bring a water bottle and a hat for sun protection.
Friday, February 25, will see our Leadership and Sports Assembly take place. Again, we are assessing the best way in which to deliver this assembly to recognise those leaders and the boys taking part in the Head of the Lake the following Sunday.
Mr O’Connor included in his previous Crest article a passage that we have decided to use as a theme for the 2022 school year. Reflecting on this theme, we hope to grow as members of staff in our knowledge and perception and recognise what is best for our students and community. Through this we hope to grow our culture of excellence further.
Have a great weekend.
Mr Tom Ferguson
