• 4 DAY BRICKLAYING WORK READY PROGRAM: Ideal for school leavers, unemployed or career change candidates, this 4 Day Bricklaying Work Ready Program runs every 3-4 weeks at Federation University – TAFE Divsion in Moyle Street, Ballarat. Run by the Australian Brick and Blocklaying Training Foundation (ABBTF), the ‘hands on’ work ready bricklaying program can provide a pathway to an apprenticeship in bricklaying and a rewarding career in the building industry. Learn basic skills such as: general trowel skills and laying bricks, bricklaying hand tools and using rake jointers and roll joiners, how to build brick walls, piers and use frame ties, correct set up and operation of a concrete mixer, making mortar batches correctly and more.
