Laptops

On Monday, February 28, all Year 7 students received their laptop! After enduring a frustrating delay due to shipping issues, it was wonderful to roll them out during Pastoral Care. Throughout the week many staff have been involved in the process of “setting up” the laptop, which has enabled the boys to be online, check emails, utilise MS Teams among other applications. A reminder that boys are to take their laptop home every night and charge it, ready for the next day and when not in use to place it in the carry bag to protect it. A huge thank you to the IT staff for their work and patience.

Associated Catholic Colleges (ACC)– Athletics

The College has been partly accepted into the Associated Catholic College’s (ACC), which means we will be competing in not only all BAS events but some ACC one’s as well. The ACC held its annual Athletics carnival last Thursday. The following Year 7 students represented the College on the day. Thank you to all the staff who helped supervise and coach. Our Head of Sport, Ms Tina Benoit has provided a more detailed summary in her report and the boys were acknowledged at Friday’s College Assembly.

SPC Swimming Carnival

The SPC Swimming Carnival was held at the Eureka Pool on Wednesday, February 23. Eager Junior School students arrived at the pool at 9:15am and were straight into their events. Throughout the day novelty events were run and the water park was also open. It was great to see not only the accomplished swimmers compete, but many others who gained a point for their House by having a go. Ms Tina Benoit spoke at the Sports Assembly on Friday and presented the House and individual age group winners, of which a detailed report can be found in the Sport Report.

Elephant Ed

Last week all Year 7 and 8 students took part in the Elephant Ed (external group) workshops. Topics such as sexuality, consent and respectful relationships were covered in the 80-minute session. The boys should be congratulated for the way they participated.

Victoria Police visits

Throughout the year members of Victoria Police will run a number of workshops for Year 7 and 8 students. A variety of topics will be covered such as Cyber Safety, road safety, career pathways and how to analyse a crime scene among others

Key dates – Term 1

The first five weeks of term have flown by. It is vital that you and your son are aware of what is happening on a day-to-day basis, be it with homework or a major College event. Besides this, the Pastoral Tutor is the first port of call. The table below highlights just some of the key dates remaining in Term 1.
