Junior School Report
September 16, 2021
By Mr Gavin Webb, Director of the Junior School
Congratulations and well done to everyone on your efforts over the past four weeks. I wish to acknowledge the boys and their families for all you have done during Remote Learning. In a time of much uncertainty one thing that has been reiterated is that as parents, you are the primary educator of your children and the combined effort of “home” with the support of teachers, enhanced learning, learning support officers, IT department, the College’s wellbeing team (counsellors, REC) and office staff have all had a role to play in the educational journey of your son in the latter part of Term 3. Without the combined effort of all, the learnings from Term 3, both in and out of the classroom, would not have been possible. A sincere thank you to everyone.
Term 4
As is the nature of the school year, we are forever looking ahead at the calendar. Covid-19 has certainly blurred the lines and made any future planning very difficult; nothing can be booked in with any certainty. To look at Term 4 as “glass half full”, we do have plenty of exciting and meaningful events to look forward to. Many of these extra and co-curricular events are yet to have the date confirmed. As soon as we know, dates will be published, keeping in mind they are subject to change at any minute. We have all learnt to be more flexible and adaptive, be it in our home or work life.

Closing remarks
I truly wish you all a well-earned time of rest throughout the holiday period. Although travelling in regional Victoria may not be your thing or even doable as each day passes, please do not underestimate the quality time you are spending as a family. Renovating the house, painting the front fence, landscaping the yard, cooking, maintaining the garden, cleaning out cupboards, watching a movie, exercising together are among the many activities that can be enjoyed with the current restrictions in place.
We look forward to welcoming all the boys back to onsite learning in Term 4.
Regards
Mr Gavin Webb
