KRC Update
May 8, 2020
KRC and the COVID closure
We are still very busy in the Kelty Resource Centre during this time of remote teaching and learning. Mrs Gail Severino has worked on site, keeping the library doors open to staff throughout the Stage 3 Lockdown. This has been essential as she has been able to provide resources and answer requests in a timely manner.
Students have access to many digital resources via the online library space located at https://krc.stpats.vic.edu.au We have created a Student Support for Remote Learning page specifically for this time. It assists students how to quickly locate resources and find important “how to” instructions and can be found at: https://krc.stpats.vic.edu.au/student-support-for-remote-learning.html.
Library staff have been busily arranging the fiction collection by genre and we hope that when the boys return, they will benefit from this alternative way of shelving books by more easily locating books they are interested in. We have been able to substantially increase the size of our ebook collection, facilitating the continuation of boys reading for enjoyment and the WIRED reading program. Ebooks can be accessed via this link https://spc.wheelers.co/. Boys from years 7-9 are encouraged to log their reading regularly using the google form supplied to each English class.
Students seeking assistance to access eresources and librarian support during remote learning should use the “Need a librarian” link found on the Student Support for Remote Learning page.
