KRC Update – September 5, 2019
September 4, 2019
During Term 3 we were delighted to be able to host a display of Artist In Residence, Robert Lee Davis’ work.- Robert visited us on many occasions to look through our collection as he researched the College’s history to shape his interpretive art work.- Robert is the winner of the 2019 Flanagan Artist in Resident Prize and has spent several weeks this term living and working at St Patrick’s College, alongside students and staff to create an artwork which will be displayed at the College. The KRC also hosted an afternoon tea and talk with Robert.- Staff were invited to attend and listen to a brief overview of Robert’s rationale and techniques.- Several staff enjoyed a relaxed afternoon speaking with Robert.
Term 3 also saw us celebrate Book Week.- We were able to spread our many activities over a two-week period, allowing all students to participate.- Lunchtimes were extremely busy with boys attempting the quizzes, games and puzzles -“ we would hope because they thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and could relate it to the Book Week theme -“ -Reading Is My Secret Power-, however, the daily lollipop may have been enticing!- We had a weekly draw that saw eight students select prizes from our display. An online Pastoral Care Quiz also saw two groups enjoy a shared prize with their Pastoral Care Teacher.-
Due to KRC staff attending a Library Association Professional Development, the Library will be closed at 4.15pm on Thursday September 12, sorry for any inconvenience.-
