2020 Pastoral Care Program: Information for Parents

“The Man Cave” – Year 10 Students

As part of the Year 10 Pastoral Care Program this year, for the first time, the students will engage in a full day workshop with ‘The Man Cave’. The Man Cave is a relatively new organization whose vision is to create a world in which every man has health relationships, contributes to his community and reaches his full potential. The program defines what healthy masculinity looks like in a contemporary world, and works towards reducing the negative effects of times when masculinity can become toxic. This program acts as the perfect next step from our Year 9 program ‘The Rite Journey’. These workshops will take place on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th February. More information will be sent to students and parents very soon.

A Day of Hope / Men of Honour – Year 11 Students

On Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd of February, all Year 11 students will attend a two-day seminar with guest presenter Glen A. Gerreyn, which will involve learning about what it means to be a good man, and to work towards living a hope filled life. Parents will be sent a letter regarding this event.

Developing resilience, working towards being a good man, and living a hope-filled life, involves young men developing a sense of empathy and gratitude. Both programs for our Year 10 and 11 programs focus on this explicitly; however, these concepts are also covered in the Pastoral Care Program for all other year levels.
