DAV Debating Round 2

On Wednesday, March 17, our Year 9 and 11 debating teams participated in the second round of DAV debating. The boys represented the College really well but unfortunately lost to some very competitive teams. A big thank you to coaches Glenda Morris, Bridie Laffey and Nathaniel Winfield in preparing their teams for each debate. The boys get a bit of a break until Round 3 which is in Week two of Term 2.

Theatre Studies Class Workshop

On Friday, March 12, the senior Theatre Studies class participated in a Commedia Dell’Arte practical workshop with playwright and theatre practitioner Rosa Campagnaro. This was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the masked characters of Commedia and delve into this wonderful theatre style. The class will be working on staging a performance of Rosa’s translation of the 16^th century text ‘The Servant of Two Masters’, as part of their Semester One study, which will be performed in Week six of Term 2.

House Theatre Sports

A reminder that the House Theatre Sports Competition kicks off this week on Thursday, Week 8 and continues in Week 9 at lunch time in the Black Box Theatre from 1:15-1:45pm. Students will compete in their house team in a series of drama improvisation games such as Space Jump and Death in a Minute.
