Senior School Report – July 20, 2017
July 19, 2017
Welcome back for the beginning of Semester Two, and I hope that all managed to enjoy some rest as well as completing some work.- Not all of us managed something as extraordinary as the Kokoda Track (wow!) but if you did not get away hopefully you could enjoy a change of pace for a little while.
Over the next few weeks I look forward to seeing many of you at information evenings, subject selection interviews and parent/teacher/student interviews.- The Year 9 into 10 Information Evening takes place on July 27, while the Year 10 into 11 Information Evening and the Careers Expo (Years 10-12) take place on August 1.- Interviews for current Year 10 students to gain some guidance with VCE subject choices are offered and will take place on August 7, 9 and 12 (more information on how to book will be given soon).- I encourage all to attend the parent/teacher/student interviews this Tuesday, July 25.- Senior School students should attend with their parents; it is not overly useful to have any discussions without you being involved.- For those students working well, it is good to have these efforts acknowledged.- For those needing to do more, it is good to find out how much you need to improve and how to go about it.- For all students it has a positive effect when parents show that they value their education by attending.
Year 11 students are to have their subject selections submitted by Friday July 28.- Congratulations to our First XVIII who have once again made the Herald Sun Shield Final, well done to all players and support staff.- Once again it looks like we are in for a busy term.
