SPC breaks enrolment record
February 8, 2015
St Patrick’s College has broken new ground in 2015 with more than 1400 students enrolled at the College for the first time.
On Friday, January 30 when Term 1 started, exactly 1430 boys were enrolled at St Patrick’s College -“ around 60 more students than the previous record set last year.
Having such a dynamic and growing student population ensures the College can maintain its reputation as providing the broadest possible education for boys in Ballarat.
Pleasingly, this year’s enrolment figures include a record number of Indigenous students at St Patrick’s College.
At the commencement of the 2015 school year the College was preparing to teach 51 Indigenous students, including 11 in Year 12. In 2014, ten Indigenous students completed their VCE, and we are hoping to break that record this year.
The current student population includes two international students and 60 boarders -“ a number which we hope will rise later in the year when renovations are complete which will allow us to return McCunnie House (in the north west corner of the property) to boarding.
Enrolment numbers for 2016 and beyond already look promising and fill us with confidence that the St Patrick’s College community is continually growing, becoming more vibrant and more diverse. We are grateful that you are all a part of this success and thank you for your ongoing support.
