Unsung Heroes wrap
September 13, 2016
St Patrick’s College Old Collegians Association was delighted to host more than 150 people at its first ever Unsung Heroes dinner in the Pavilion on August 13.
The night honoured those men from 1955-85 who had represented the College with distinction on the footy field but had not gone on to higher honours at VFL/AFL level. With guest interviewer Ian Cover entertaining the audience, many wonderful memories were shared and many laughs were enjoyed.
The old grandstand has now been painted with new signage dedicating it to the Unsung Heroes and a plaque will be installed explaining the significance of the night.
Many thanks to the organising committee, led by Daryl Teschendorf (SPC 1963) for having the vision and dedication to bring the night to fruition and many thanks to all who attended. Given the success of the evening, we hope to host a similar function for the years 1986-2016 in the future.

Further to the night’s success, Ian Cover mentioned the Unsung Heroes dinner on the Coodabeen Champions radio show the following weekend -“ unfortunately it was only broadcast on digital radio due to the Rio Olympics but it is available via podcast.
