VCAL Fundraising 2020

The College’s Applied Learning students have been focusing on running fundraising events this term. The Applied Learning Foundation class came up with project ideas on their return to onsite classes.  They had several focus areas including:

• Resilience and self esteem
• Health and well-being
• Social responsibility

They decided on a Car Wash fundraiser, a Food Drive and building Bikes for Kids.  All students enjoyed managing and participating in each project and successfully presented their proceeds to St Vincent de Paul representatives on Thursday, November 26.  Alan and Kevin from St Vinnies were emotional at the success of the boy’s ventures as it has been a very difficult year for the charity under the COVID-19 restrictions.  The Applied Learning boys would like to thank the SPC community for their support in contributing to these projects.
