Where has life taken you since leaving SPC?

I worked in family business in Ballarat before buying into an equipment rental company in Melbourne. I lived in Melbourne before selling the business and returning to Ballarat in 2002. Since then, I have been developing green field land sub divisions and now I also operate serviced apartments in Lake Wendouree.

What are your favourite memories of your time at St Patrick’s College?

Sport was always my favourite! Football, cricket and Jerks every lunch time in the outdoor squash courts was always great fun.-

Which teacher from your time at SPC had the greatest impact on you? Why?

Frank Rice. A great bloke and understood that young men could be a little wild and hard to control at times, but he always gave you a chance to redeem yourself and would invest time into your development.

What was your favourite College event?

The inter-school rivalry in all sports, especially football.

How has your education at SPC shaped your professional life?

It certainly made me tough and resilient. You had to stand your ground in an all-boys school and defend your patch. It sounds a little hostile but it made sure that when you entered the real world, you were street smart and well prepared.

How has your time at SPC shaped your personal values and your family life?

As a Christian, yes, certainly I have learnt compassion, understanding and the need to give back to the community through the Christian values that I was taught at SPC.

If you could pass on one message to the students of today, what would it be?

Never, ever, ever give up, be strong minded and accept things don’t always go your way. Have compassion and give of your time to others, as the rewards are immeasurable.
