William Nicholas (Nick) Coffey (SPC 1968-70, PY1972)

We are saddened to learn of the passing of William Nicholas (Nick) Coffey (SPC 1968-70, PY1972), who passed away on 31 October 2023. Nick was the younger brother of John (SPC 1965-69), boarders from Warracknabeal, and we extend our condolences to John and his extended family.

Nick started at SPC in Form 2 and left after completing Form 4. Nick enjoyed sport and was involved in football, rugby and athletics. Nick was a member of a record-breaking Under 16 relay team in 1970, breaking the 1945 record by shaving 0.3 seconds off the 440 Yards relay time.

Nick was a member of the BPS Athletics Champions side in 1970 after his record-breaking relay run.
