William Thomas (Bill) Maher (SPC 1955-57, PY1958)

William (Bill) Maher.

We were notified that Old Collegian William Thomas (Bill) Maher (SPC 1955-57, PY1958) sadly passed away on July 6, 2021. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Lesley and his extended family, where he was a devoted father and father-in-law of Louise and David, Michelle and Greg, Phillip and Amanda, Hayden and Kelly and their families.

Bill attended SPC for three years, starting in sub-intermediate in 1955 and completing his leaving studies in 1957.

He was a boarder from Pira, near Swan Hill. Bill was a member of the Nunan House premiership team for the Hill Football competition in 1956 and participated in athletics and rowing. He was the bow in the sixth crew in the 1957 Head of the Lake, which finished second behind Ballarat College.

Bill’s wife Lesley said Bill enjoyed reading The Shamrock magazine and keeping updated with SPC news over the years, from his home in Swan Hill.
